Craig Thomas diagnosed with leukemia

CNN is reporting that Senator Craig Thomas (R-WY) has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.

The report states that "Thomas fell ill in church in Casper on Sunday and was taken by ambulance to Wyoming Medical Center. He and his wife, Susan, flew back to Washington later in the day."

Because each cancer story is different, it is too early to tell what the potential ramifications will be. The Senator issued a press release stating that "[i]t is expected that Thomas will be able to perform all duties of his office following treatment," and that "'majority of people with Craig's great physical condition and general health attain remission.'"
